The Serene One came home from his bike ride yesterday and silently walked into the bathroom. Usually, he says hello and gives me a recap of the ride. I sat there for a while and heard the sink water turn on. It didn't turn off.I tapped on the door and pushed it open. He was covered in dirt and blood after a hard crash. After taping him up his hands with about 12 teeny bandaids, I ran to the store for reinforcements.
The Serene One's racing club offered sympathy and advice. One guy even provided a photo of his last road rash. When Flesh Meets Earth was suggested reading from another club member.
They say that triathletes have to spend more money than most athletes because there's three times as much equipment. I think there needs to be a warning about supplementary expenditures.

Sorry to hear that - hope he heals up quickly! And I'm very familiar with the spouse-siliently-walking-to-the-bathroom-sink routine too.
