Hot Guys or Substance?

The organizers of the BlogHer 08 conference did a wonderful job this year. On Friday night, the club Ruby Skye was hired exclusively for us to party the night away. The event was sponsored by the TNT shows "The Closer" and "Saving Grace." It was an excellent match between sponsor and audience. Both television shows are centered around tough, no-nonsense women. The conference was filled with women who aren't afraid to let their opinions be known.

They handed out official "The Closer" crimson nail polish and showed teasers on all the flat screens in the club. They also sent some of the people who work on the shows. Unfortunately, Sis and I didn't stay long enough to meet them. Our brains were mush from the daytime activities.

Luckily, I got to chat with BlogHer Contributing Editor Megan Smith who was at the party and she showed me photos of the event. There was a good mix of guests: Nancy Miller, the exec producer of Saving Grace [proof that TNT has women leaders] , a few writers [nice match with the fact that all bloggers are writers] and Gina Ravera, the only regular actress from The Closer besides Kyra Sedgwick [someone available for girl talk] .

The TNT publicity people made some very respectful decisions about who would appeal to the convention attendees. To be honest, I wouldn't have minded a little less respect. It would have been fun to meet the cute guys!!

My pick: Kyra Sedgwick's handsome, younger man played by Jon Tenney:

I've never watched Saving Grace, but a quick perusal of the cast photo reveals a nice smattering of good-looking guys. Maybe next year.
