Introducing...
Last week, a woman sent out a note to my rat newsgroup. She rescued 12 rat babies and was looking to place them in homes. I couldn't resist. It's been tough going without Cupcake in the house. I was a little bummed that all of babies were black. They'll be a bit difficult to tell apart in photos.
However, the rescuer (who is a vet student and is currently upkeeping two horses, two dogs, some cats and a bunch of rats) told me that black animals have a tough time being adopted. Black dogs are the last to be adopted out of shelters. Therefore, they are the first to be put down. How sad! So, I decided to embrace the two little black balls of fuzz. I named them for the "creator" of "the little black dress" : Coco Chanel.
In the photo, Coco is on the left and Nelly (with the little white spot) is on the right. They are very shy. You can tell because Coco is trying to hide behind Nelly.

Very cute! Obsessive tech note: it may be easier to get a good exposure on them if you have a medium or darker-toned background.
Horace: Just think how I just enhanced your life ;)
