Lately, I'm finding that I like quite a bit of "American Idol music." Kelly Clarkson's album "Breakaway" is a guilty pleasure. Chris Daughtry's "It's Not Over" and Katherine McPhee's "It's So Over" are both very catchy.
I have no interest in the first part of American Idol--where you hear all the really bad singers. Thanks to an update from my parents that this part was over, I tuned in Tuesday night.
This was the first time I watched an entire American Idol episode. The Serene One can't stand reality shows but he was setting up his trainer in the garage so I managed to sneak the entire two hour "mens" show while he was outside.
Simon Cowell sure tells it like it is. I agreed with almost everything he said. Too bad we don't have someone like that to give straightforward feedback in the business world. Heck, a lot of stage effects might be handy to have in real life: the trapdoor, the gong, the hook.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few "pitchy" contestants even in the top 24. I can't get over the use of that word by the judges. Just say "out of tune!!"
