Looking Nail-like

How's the phrase go?
When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Since most of my time at tech and dress rehearsal was spent tweaking the script and working with the actors, I had my scriptwriting hat on when the show director approached me.

"J is having a hard time getting out of her Victorian costume and into her ragtime outfit. There isn't much time in the transition." (The Serene One complains about tri transition times, but I'm sure the wetsuit is easier than corset and petticoats)

My first thought: Oh, I can write some additional dialogue to lengthen the transition time.

The director continued: "So, can you please be her dedicated dresser for the transition?"

Ouch, I think I just hit my thumb.

Tickets are still on sale for the show tonight and tomorrow! If you're local, come on down!

maybe because of my past scriptwriting experience, but definitely when it came to my quick change from the beginning, i kept thinking - maybe we could just add dialogue... ;)

fortunately, it seems to be working. plus, it adds a little excitement. because you know, just the stress of being in a show isn't enough. :-P

Maybe you can add a song for that guy who sang with the Ukulele to stall.
