I went wedding dress shopping this week with Little K. She looked lovely in so many of the dresses. I certainly did my share of dreamy sighing as we assessed Empire waists, mermaid tails, A line skirts and colored sashes. The really fun part was draping tiaras, veils, flowers and feathers in her hair.
I was partial to the feathers. Unfortunately, the first arrangement we tried was a very fuzzy white ball that evoked the Muppets. We liked the idea, but Little K decided that it had too much of a "Big Bird" feel. Now we're looking at make-it-yourself veil patterns. You can save a bundle if you do it yourself.
I was interested to see many of the bridal dresses had built-in belts or girdles. It's a great idea! I think it heightens the chances that you'll get both a comfortable fit and the dress will hang correctly. I don't remember this when I went wedding shopping five years ago.
Now, if they could just improve the leadtime on getting the dress...

Bridal dresses with built-in belts or girdles:- I didn't remember people saying USA is an obese nation 5 years ago.
