BlogHer is holding an art auction to help clean up the Gulf of Mexico. Proceeds benefit the Nature Conservancy. I got to see the art in person during the BlogHer community gala. Each piece of art is inspired by a blog post in the BlogHer 2010 Voices of the Year collection.
These were my favorite pieces of work (less a few pieces that I couldn't get a recognizable photo of.) Please excuse the giant flash marks.
If you're interested in bidding, go here. The art work will go up for auction in sets over the next few weeks.
This one made me laugh and laugh:
"Slosh" by Karen Parr
Inspired by "Oh Six-and-a-half year old
you always know what I'm REALLY Saying"
Alice Bradley, Finslippy
I don't know if this was a photo of a collage or completely generated digitally, but I liked all the visual textures:

That's funny--I saw the little bird, and I liked it, but I didn't even notice the little laptop. :)
