Nothing much excited me this week in the solo dances. Cheryl did her homework for the Lindy and Chelsie put together a good routine for Ty. The two group numbers were pretty good, especially in comparison to the Latin group number last season.
Since Melissa was injured, Lacey stepped into her spot. Lacey only had a few hours to practice the number but she and Tony looked really sharp together. After their solo, it was a very apparent jump down in quality to Shawn and Mark. Don't get me wrong, I love Shawn! She's doing great this season and other stars would have looked far worse. It's just that DWTS usually does a good job "hiding" a direct comparison between stars and pros. It's startling to see the gap.
You can check out the number here (go to 2:59). Liked the handoff from Lacey and Tony to Shawn and Mark. Very neat transition.
SPOILER
I was sure that Ty was going to get kicked off this week, so I voted for the first time this season. I guess a lot of people felt the same way since he was saved to dance another day! Chuck Wicks was certainly the better dancer, but I would miss Ty's charm and self-deprecating jokes.

I enjoy watching Ty each week! Chelsie does a good job with choreo and teaching him.
I was so glad to see Chuck go! The group dances were fun...Vera who watches with me has been singing "Womanizer" to Keller. So not a good thing!! Mark Ballas needs to stop over dancing his part, he makes his partner look to mellow in comparison.
Lady M- yes, and you just never know how his routine will turn out!
Good Times and Chaos - I remember Mark got criticized for "over dancing' with Kim Kardashian too.
