This week was pretty fun. I was sorry to see Niecy go. I thought her Viennese Waltz was very nice, but the Paso Doble was weak.
Erin's Argentine Tango Leap to Maksim's shoulder was rock solid. Wasn't as enamored with some of her crooked leg positions at the end. Her legs *are* gorgeous though, and they went for a mile in her opening lunge.
As for Evan and Anna, I thought their futuristic Cha-Cha was great as well as Anna's Fifth Element inspired costume. Gotta download that song.
Nicole and Derek did a nice job with their foxtrot. I think I'm becoming a second Len Goodman though--didn't like the hat/newpaper/bench messin' about. I also got hung up on how out of tune the singer was and how broadly Nicole and Derek played it. I would have preferred a little less hamming it up. Would have been just as effective.
As for the 50's Paso Doble, when I saw Derek's bewildered face, I knew he would come up with something good. I wonder how much idea bouncing he does with Mark Ballas. All I can say: Brilliant!!!
