Yellow Tub

Last weekend we headed up north to see The Serene One's family. They were so sweet to throw us a shower and we were touched by how many people showed up for the event.

The yellow theme was beautiful and Aunt B festooned the house with tiny rubber ducks. There was even one floating in the lemon sorbet punch!

SiL once again showed her good judgment when getting the cake decoration done. One of the choices for piping was "Goodbye Tummy, Hello Mommy." Since my obsession with my missing belly button continues, I have to thank her again for not getting that on the cake!!
Note the tiny booties
Some stories from the day:

- The first wedding ring is a Mulligan (a do-over in golf). Somehow or other, a significant quantity of family members have either lost their first wedding ring or gotten remarried. This makes me think of Chris Saul's friend who has lost 2 wedding bands (and counting) to the Dubai beach and sunblock.

- Aunt L got us a bouncer and told us that she had nine in their house when the triplets were born. During feedings, she would have two kids in the bouncers with their bottles and be holding the other one.

- The favor bags were these cute yellow drawstring bags with white polka dots. SiL made a trip to the Jelly Belly factory and filled them with gummy bears and four different types of yellow jelly beans. Apparently, she sat on the floor and sorted all the yellow ones out of the mixed bin of gummy bears before purchase! The Serene One and I are still trying to figure out what the jelly bean flavors are. So far, the guesses include: lemon, pina colada and banana.

It was a fun day and we are still enjoying the cake!
