Note to self: stock up on bendy straws. Not only will your 2 year old nephew appreciate it, but convalescent spouses need them too.
Surgery was today in Menlo Park. It was a 90 minute procedure at the end of a long (and hungry) day for The Serene One. The facility was nice and compact, so they had him walk into the OR and hop up onto the operating table.
I felt very small and lonely after he left. Little K swung by and stuffed me with a fabulous homemade dinner and I felt much better.
The Serene One is now propped up on the couch with ice water pumping over his shoulder. I am busy logging his pain medication. Thanks to everyone for your kind notes!

Do recover soon.
Glad the surgery went well.
You're much stronger than you think, but I'm happy your support system will be fully functioning again soon.
I felt that way when my hubby went in for an appendectomy. Then the next night we were home, he awoke in the middle of the night and said "my nurse is sleeping!" I'm sure your patient is appreciating all of your nursing right now. :)
Thanks for your comments everyone:)
