Sis, BiL, Buster and I went on our annual pilgrimage to see Stars on Ice. Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman were back! Yay! Here they are in Act 1 skating to "Johnny got a Boom Boom:"

Sasha Cohen was exquisite as always. Here she is skating to Dos Gardenias by Buena Vista Social Club:
Todd Eldredge did "The Waiter's Gallop" from Hello Dolly! It was a cute idea, but there wasn't enough good choreography for me.
There was a vignette to the film Up! which was odd, but I loved seeing Ilia Kulik in this quasi 50s look. Here he is with Ekaterina Gordeeva:
A surprise addition to the program was Japanese pairs skaters Narumi Takahashi and Marvin Tran (who is actually Canadian). They were adorable and did a number to "A Little Less Conversation." This photo is horribly overexposed, but they still look great.
British ice dancing pair Sinead and John Kerr were new to the show. I liked how she lifted him a few times:
My absolute fave number of the night: the quartet of guys skating to "Waiting For My Real Life to Begin" by Colin Hay. Ryan Bradley, Kurt Browning, John Kerr, John Zimmerman skated in a very dark rink and with four spotlights. A real pain to get a good photo. Hence the abysmal quality of this pic:
Sasha Cohen skating to "Big Spender:"
Ina and Zimmerman skating to Rascal Flatts' "Take Me There"
I love the pairs numbers and sigh wistfully to the days that the tour had many pairs skaters. Kurt Browning was awesome and I turned off the camera to enjoy his numbers completely. Ryan Bradley, who is a newbie to the tour, was very charming. He made smart choices too: Footloose and Sinatra's "The Best is Yet To Come."
I very much liked the pairing of Gordeeva and Kurt Browning at the end of the show. She did a strong number to The Pussycat Dolls' "Feelin' Good" and he did a number to Adam Lambert's "Feeling Good." Here's a copy of the program. Had a great time. Thanks Sis and BiL!

It was fun seeing the show with you!
Sounds like this year's SOI show was entertaining. I decided to skip this year's show b/c Evan Lysacek was not in the cast and there was no other skater that I was willing to travel fifteen hours to see.
Nice! We are going to have to get to one of those shows someday. I think I'd like it a lot more than Disney on Ice!
