We went to this tonight:
“Global Winter Wonderland” is a magical lantern festival based on the centuries old traditional Chinese lantern festival, which have attracted millions of people over time.
Headlining our event are larger-than-life lantern replicas of the world’s most fascinating iconic landmarks: India’s Taj Mahal, Paris’s Eiffel Tower, Mexico’s Chichen Itza, and San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge are just a few of our favorites. Over forty giant illuminated structures, some nearly 50 feet high and 100 feet long, will be sure to take your breath away. Arriving from China, our elaborate lantern displays were built by engineers of several structures showcased in the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.

It reminded me of the displays that were set up for holidays on the median dividers of major streets in Taipei. Garish but fun. Serene Jr. didn't like the giant T-rex that roared. We exited the dinosaur maze expeditiously.

Is it worth the full-price $12 a head for entrance (kids under 4 was free) and the $10 parking? Eh. No. But, we got a discount and we got to hang out with family too. I would recommend hunting down 2 for 1 vouchers at Wal-Mart, VTA, etc or finding other discounts.
A sculpture out of porcelain dinner objects. You can see the soup spoons over the dragon's ears.
