Inbox to the World

There was a great Ten Questions column with Condoleezza Rice in Time Magazine recently. I loved her response to this question about Hillary:

When you look at Hillary Clinton, do you primarily feel sympathy, dismay or admiration?

Empathy and admiration. We're friends. The Secretary of State club is a pretty small one. You know what it's like to be the inbox for the world. Almost every problem comes to your desk. I think she's a terrific person.

I wish I could feel admiration for Condoleeza Rice but I really struggle with that.

I have respect for both Mrs. Clinton and Ms. Rice. Both have their own controversy in the eyes of the public and both have held, or holding, one of the most difficult roles in the world. I would like to think that both bring honor to their duty and are serving for the best possible reasons.

A Suburban Life: You know, I struggle with some of Condolezza's decisions but man, the stories she has to tell. I would enjoy having lunch with her.

John: The Secretary of State role is tough. I just read a Madeleine Albright book and she is amazing as well.
