Steampunk Car Ad and Book

Two steampunk things lately. I loved this Nissan Leaf ad. There's a steampunk vibe to it, and it also makes you think: if we really had to power everything with gas, instead of electricity, I bet we would conserve a lot more energy.

Also, just finished Kady Cross' steampunk book, The Girl with the Steel Corset. It's a fun, light read. I keep getting twinges though about the Imperialistic attitude in steampunk. It was worse in Gail Carriger's books where there was some derogatory comments about colonized "savages." I'm nervous about how bad it will get in her next book when they go to India. With Cross' book, it's limited to the use of "oriental." Still, I really wish we had some kick butt Asian steampunk to read.

Cute commercial. I'm so intrigued by electric cars.
