Recalibrating Expectations

Sometimes I forget that not everyone is glued to their electronic devices like I am. Here's how my conversation with hubby went today.

Me: I haven't heard from anyone in your family about their Christmas gifts

The Serene One: It's only the day after Christmas, honey

Me: Yeah, but I've already exchanged a ton of emails with my family. Plus, I've tweeted and sent video too.

The Serene One: Dear, you are more technologically advanced than my whole family put together

Me: That's not true. What about Aunt L?

pause

Me: Ok, she's not blood related.

pause

Me: And her hubby kept talking to me last year about "MeTube."

The Serene One: So, try to be patient.

so maybe if you could organize dishes for potlucks and so forth with your electronics, it wouldn't be a mad scramble at the last minute?

Stimey: I know, it was so cute!

Mme A:
No doubt! The thing with blogging, electronics, is that you do it on your own time--whenever. The thing with shopping-- you have to do it when the store is open.

Example: my first potluck plan? Dashed, cuz I was there before the store was open, then had a meeting so I couldn't wait. Bleh
